Privacy policy

This website is operated by Liat Klein Yaari, a psychotherapist and art therapist working from Portugal ("I"). I am the controller of the personal data collected on this site.

This policy is written in line with the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981 (including Amendment 13), and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which apply to my activity and to people who contact me from Israel and Europe.

I collect only what is needed to reply to your message and to arrange a session:

• Contacting me by email or phone: if you choose to write or call, the details you provide (for example your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message) are used only to reply to you.
• Booking an intro call: when you click the booking button, Cal.com loads in a pop-up window. It receives your name, email, phone number, time zone and anything you choose to add, in order to schedule the call and send a confirmation and reminder. Nothing from Cal.com is loaded before you click.
• WhatsApp: if you choose to write to me on WhatsApp, your phone number and the content of the messages pass through WhatsApp, under its own terms.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type and access time are recorded on the hosting servers for security and for the site to work properly. The legal basis is a legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.

The site has no tracking cookies, advertising, behavioural analytics or statistics tools. Accessibility preferences you choose (for example text size) are stored only in your own browser and are not sent to me.

Please avoid writing detailed medical or emotional information in an email, in a first WhatsApp message or in the notes field of the booking. Those details can be left for a conversation.

If a therapeutic relationship begins between us, clinical information is handled separately, under professional confidentiality and ethics and under the therapy agreement, and not through this website.

I do not sell your data and I do not pass it on for marketing. To run the site I rely on providers who handle data on my behalf and only on my instructions:

• Vercel: website hosting.
• Google (Gmail and Google Calendar): my mailbox and calendar.
• Cal.com: booking of intro calls.
• Zoom: video sessions.
• WhatsApp (Meta): WhatsApp conversations, if you choose to use it.

Some providers are located outside Israel and the European Union, mainly in the United States. Data is transferred in line with applicable law and on the basis of recognised transfer mechanisms, such as standard contractual clauses. Israel is recognised by the European Union as providing an adequate level of protection.

Messages that did not lead to a therapeutic process are kept only as long as they are needed to reply, and for no more than 12 months from the last contact, and then deleted, unless the law requires keeping them. Technical server data is kept for a short period under the hosting provider's policy.

You have the right to ask to access the information held about you, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it. To exercise your rights, write to me: liatoss20@gmail.com

I will reply within 30 days. If you believe your rights were violated, you can also contact the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority or the Portuguese supervisory authority (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, CNPD).

The site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to the information that reaches me is limited to me. Still, no system is completely immune. If a security incident occurs that puts your privacy at risk, I will report it to the authorities and to those affected as the law requires.

The site and the service are meant for adults and young adults aged 18 and over. I do not knowingly collect information from minors.
